Scarlett and Addy were known around campus for throwing parties that were not easily forgotten. Excitement bubbled inside her with the thought of the party planning process, and she eagerly made her way for the exit.
"Ok, I have one requirement for this party; open bar. We should hire the bartender from SD 26!" It was one of the finest Italian bistros in NYC, and one of the girls' favorite spots for good food and wine. Scarlett held the door open for Addy, following behind her into the hallway when she noticed a shape in front of her apartment door. She gave Addy a bewildered glance while mouthing, "The fuck?" She could already feel her elation buzzing to a halt.
The girl didn't look familiar, which was an odd thing for Truman U. Most of the students around campus had practically grown up together, attending the finest schools available from preschool to college. In the rare event that a new student did arrive, it never took long before it turned into the hottest gossip. Most newbies tended to crash and burn really quick, and it was something the students there got a kick out of watching. It was a cruel, unforgiving world inside those walls and it wasn't for the faint of heart.
She was so focused on getting into Scarlett's room that she didn't notice her and Addy approaching. Finally, Scar gave a quick, irritated tap on the girls shoulder. The strange girl looked timidly over at her when Scarlett asked, "Why the fuck are you trying to break into my room, spaz?"

Violet stood standing at the entrance to the dorms. These were supposed to be where she stayed. They were more like her grandfathers barn in Louisiana. Of course her mother put her in the regular dorms. She would have to fix this. She was sure her dad would do this for her seeing as how he wanted her to keep his dirty little secret.
She walked to the front office, she ignored the yells of protest from the other students and pushed her way to the front of the line. "I know there are better dorms in this hell hole. Up grade me now." The disheveled secretary looked at her like Violet held her job in her well manicured hand. "I'm sorry the only penthouse we have left is reserved for another student. I can get you on the floor below it, its smaller than the penthouses but still have a second bedroom." The stutter in the ladies voice annoyed Violet. "That will do. Bill it to my father not my mother." Violet waited for the homeless looking lady to hand her her key card so she could get settled in. "You will be on the 21st floor, room one."
Violet took the key card and made her way to the elevator. As she stood waiting in the elevator she observed all the people around her. All the same. Standing as if they were the top dogs. The elevator doors closed leaving her alone to the elevator music. She wondered who ran the school, she was sure she would find out soon.
When the doors opened to the 21st floor she wasn't shocked to already see men moving her luggage into room one. Although she was grateful for them to move fast she still pushed past them. She looked over her pent house that she would be occupying for the year, she wasn't impressed but next year she will reserve that top floor penthouse.
"Will that be all ma'am?" She turned to the bellhops who stood with their arms crossed in front of them. She merely shook her head brushing them off and went to explore her penthouse.

Eden turned her head to see a girl. shorter than her by several inches with her hand on her hip and a wrinkle in between her forehead from the obvious dislike. Her hair was faultless, falling in waves down her back. Hazel eyes were framed by prominent eyebrows and elongated eyelashes. Flanking her left was another girl and the look of scorn on her face was evident. The other girl had shorter hair, and was also a lighter brunette. Her green eyes were slightly unfocused, making Eden assume that they were already up to some partying of their own.Eden had no idea how she could walk disoriented in the heels that adorned her feet. Eden grimaces internally. What now? Eden faces them, attempting to solve this calmly, for she could be feisty when she wanted to. " If you didn't notice from my card, this is my room. The damn card just wouldn't work and I really need to actually get settled in before tomorrow. But, I am absolutely sure that the secretary said top floor, room two."
Eden turns again to the door and slides the card through the slot for the last time. She tries to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. Eden sighs and only glimpses a sun kissed hand with perfect manicured fingers slide a card in from right and open the door with ease. Eden peers through her lashes to her right to see the petite brunette holding the key in her hand with a look of satisfaction.

"Of course, open bar and Tom from SD26 is the only way to go," Addy quipped, not noticing the girl attempting to break into Scarlett's room. Addysyn's inebriated mind wandered off to more party planning ideas and all the past affairs the pair had put on. They had to start this year off with a bang. Only the finest caterers and party decor would do. Fortunately, they had access to it all. "Can't start off the year with a less than amazing party," she added.
It wasn't until she heard Scarlett's telltale irritated cursing that she was pulled from her thoughts and her head snapped up, attempting to locate the source of Scar's irritation. The girls were two peas in a pod and you fuck with one of them, you fuck with both. Scarlett was one of but a few that Addysyn would, for lack of a better phrase, "take a bullet for".
Addysyn followed close behind Scarlett, making sure to approach this obvious fledgling with confidence and authority. It wasn't often that new students made it through their first week of Truman University. The elite were a wicked bunch; and Addy was no exception. It was a sort of rite of passage and way to determine if an individual truly had what it takes to make it at the top with all the catty bitches and entitled men. Survival of the fittest and all.
She looked the unfamiliar woman up and down, taking in her appearance. She was taller than both of them, but that meant nothing. Her hair was dark, a contrast to her fair skin. She reeked of low upper class and new money. Not someone Addysyn would typically befriend. She watched as the girl exchanged words with Scarlett. And typically, Addy would let Scar fight her own battles, but the tone in the girl's voice was too much for Addysyn to ignore in her current state.
"You might consider watching your tone, new girl," she quipped, glaring steadily, "Scum like you won't make it far pissing off the likes of us."

Violet made her way to the elevator curious as to what the top floor penthouses had that hers didn't. Maybe since they were the top floor they had a staircase that led to the roof. Either way she was going to find out and she was going to complain. She was going to make sure her mother heard about this and that her father found a way to get her to the top floor.
Once again Violet was stuck listening to the annoying elevator music, but this time not for long. As the elevator doors opened the first thing she saw were three other woman standing in front of what looked to be room two bickering about who's room it was. She smirked to herself, she found the top dogs. From what she could tell, the one with heels and the side kick were the top dogs. The awkward one standing in front of them trying to hold her ground, she was definitely new. Just like Violet.
"The only scum around here darling is the one reeking of cheap wine and knock off brand of jimmy choo shoes." It came out of Violets mouth before she knew what she was saying. Why was she defending the newbie. She mentally slapped herself, but held her ground none the less. This was going to be one eventful school year she thought.

If Scarlett thought the spaz was irritating, it was nothing compared to the random bumpkin butting into their conversation with her hillbilly twang who apparently didn't know how to differentiate between real designer products and knock offs. Usually Scarlett would've appreciated the bluntness, it was qualities like those that separate the survivors and the rejects within these walls; however, she was buzzed and there were too many "nobodies" up on the penthouse floor. To put it simply, the redneck bitch was out of her league.
"Look, I don't know who you are, which practically makes you almost as irrelevant as you being in this conversation, but unless you expect some problems with us I would steer clear." Scarlett threatened, crossing her arms in irritation. This was getting out of hand and quite frankly, she questioned the efficiency down at administration these days. It was clear the newcomers needed a wake up call or they were going to learn really quickly why Truman U wasn't for the weak.

Eden could see the rivalry starting to break out between the two girls that were talking to her and the new one that appeared seemingly out of nowhere. If there was anything Eden didn't want at Truman University, it was the constant nagging of bitchy girls vying for the attention of their peers. Obviously, the secretary giving her the wrong room, has caused her all this trouble. Eden turned to the country girl and states,"Hey, I appreciate the gesture but I don't need my life getting anymore complicated , especially by petty arguments which are sure to come from this confrontation. This girl was probably too drunk to comprehend what she was saying anyways. And you," Eden says as she turns to the resident of the room," you would be the last person I would try to steal from. I don't associate with people like you." Eden walked down the hall to the elevator, not bothering to see if they were watching.

Violet could only smirk as she watched the girl she stood up for leave. She felt slightly insulted yet all she wanted to do was laugh in the two frigged bitches faces.
"It seems that the girl you call a spaz could handle herself. Were you shocked or is it just me. I am curious though, what makes you so much better than everybody else? The fact that you have issues but you take your pain out on everyone else. It is New York though and you do look like you have yet to meet someone your match. It's good to meet you though. I'm Violet Montgomery, and if you think I am afraid of you, you are strongly mistaken. I guess I will be seeing you around though. Truman University seems to be the type of place where you bump into your enemies. Have a good day and stay out of the wine for a few, it doesn't suit you."
Violet turned around and made her way back to the elevator. This elevator was currently her only friend and probably the only one she would have for a while. She was sure that these girls would try to get rid of her as quickly as possible. She was certain though, that before she was ran out of Truman University, she would put up the biggest fight the school has had in history. Maybe then her mothers legacy will leave her and she could be her own person.
Once Violet was back inside her penthouse she started to unpack and get ready for any party she found herself at.
As she dressed for the night Violet took off her hot pink lace thong and put it in the manila envelope addressing it to a very lucky man in Houston, Texas. That lucky man though, just bought her a brand new pair of cowboy boots.

"Well, this year is going to be fun," Addysyn giggled, watching the two girls retreat from the top floor. Two new girls at Truman University? This was definitely going to prove for an interesting school year. She was sure this was going to be one of many interactions they would all have. Letting the near confrontation roll of her back Addy turned to her friend.
"So, the mixer?" Addysyn offered with a soft chuckle. Of course they would find themselves having a near battle with two unfamiliar girls. Just their luck and all that. The excitement for the school year opener was returning and Addy was practically vibrating with anticipation. There were so many details to plan.
"Where should we host it? H'orderves or no food? Obviously Tom from SD26 and an open bar like we discussed," Addy began rambling off everything that came to mind. "God, I'm so excited!"
The new girls were now a thing of the past and quickly forgotten by the party planning frenzy that had consumed her mind. The possibilities were endless and if the girls were going to make this happen they needed to get started and now. Pulling her cellphone out of the back pocket of her jeans she quickly began scrolling through her contacts, searching for the best party work force New York City had to offer.

"I need the usual," Maximus snapped into the phone. His voice was low and held an authority that only those of the Upper East were familiar with. The tone of voice that reeked of a certain level of entitlement. See, when you were fed with a silver spoon growing up, you always got your way. There was no other option. Getting a response he was satisfied with he gave a grunt in response before ending the call and stuffing the phone in his pants pocket.
'Another year at Truman University,' Maximus thought to himself. Despite growing up in this lifestyle, it never came naturally to him. Using his money for purely selfish reason and to climb the social ladder. Since a young age he had donated the money he was allotted to him to various charities. He did his best to not use his financial status to get what he wanted. Except for when it involved his percocets, like the call he just ended. He used his status to feed his addiction.
A buzz from his pocket alerted him to an incoming text. 'Here.'
Maneuvering through the lavishly decorated living area of his dorm he made his way to the front door. Peering through the peephole he confirmed the individual on the other side was who he was waiting for. Standing on the other side was an immaculately dressed teenage girl; the most unsuspecting display for a well known drug dealer. Cracking the door open they quickly exchanged hands; him handing over the money and her handing over the goods. A quick nod and the door closed again.
Few knew of Maximus' drug of choice. It all began his senior year of high school. The stress of making it through that final year and into the infamous Truman University. The amount of pressure planted on hims by his father and older brother to make it through college to follow in their footsteps proved to be too much for the youngest DuBois. One pill one time turned into multiple every few hours in an attempt to numb his mind to the constant turmoil and ease him through the motions of making his family happy.
Throwing a newly obtained pill into his mouth he quickly dry swallowed. Better to take one now. He was sure he would find himself at a party later tonight, it was inevitable that someone in the school would host one the first day back from summer vacation.

"This may be our most interesting year yet," Scarlett agreed, laughing with her BFF. Most people tended to stay on the girls' good side considering the fact that they threw parties that were impressive even to the citiy's most privileged group, and already there was someone seemlingly wanting to challenge their position. It was all a game to Scarlett and Addy, and it was a game that they were always more than willing to play.
"Yes, the mixer!" Any trace of a smile disappeared from Scar's face; it was time to get back to business. After all, party planning was something they actually took seriously. "I'm thinking it needs to blow everyone away. You know, make a statement?" Scarlett suggested, "Everyone needs to be invited, especially the new girls." Even though that girl Violet and the spaz who's name Scar didn't know yet had gotten on her nerves earlier, it would only make the mixer more enjoyable by inviting them. She wanted to see what they were all about, that information might prove useful in the future anyways.
"As for a venue, we can rent out the ballroom down at the student union building," She added, "or we can host it in one of our penthouses..." She smiled at the idea; showing off their luxuries was one of the many perks of being insanely rich. "You know what, I'm feeling more of a penthouse type of gathering," she gave Addy a knowing smile, they both enjoyed showing off just how far their privilege took them.
"So you'll call Tom at SD26 and Madeline's on 22nd street for hors d'oeuvres?"Scarlett suggested, "I'll get my contacts and let everyone know and then call Maria about decor and music."
Not long from now, the first mixer of many will begin, she thought with an accomplished smile.

Addysyn nodded enthusiastically as Scarlett began listing things that needed to be done of the mixer they were planning. Though she didn't understand her reasoning for encouraging the presence of the new girls she agreed, knowing that Scarlett always had a reason for what she did. And it usually wasn't something she regretted.
"Yours or mine?" Addy questioned in response to using one of their penthouses as the venue for their affair. Either would be a suitable setting for what they had planned. Definitely big and lavish enough. And after they brought in the decorator you wouldn't be able to tell that it was someone's living quarters. Addy could picture it now; elegant strands of lights hanging from the ceiling, paired tables covered in only the finest linens and center pieces. "Let's just do yours," she decided, hoping Scarlett wouldn't mind, "It's slightly bigger and I'm sure the girl that was trying to get into it would really enjoy seeing what she's missing out on."
Tapping her foot in excitement, Addysyn was ahead of Scarlett and already dialing the number to SD26. Hoping that Tom would be available, and knowing she could work her magic even if he wasn't.
"On it," she answered. "I'll meet you at your place in twenty? We can get ready together." She didn't wait for a response as she turned on her heel and headed back to her own room, phone held up to her ear.
Tonight was going to be a night to remember, she could feel it.
